Welcome

The Somerset School District serves the townships of Somerset, Star Prairie, Richmond and St. Joseph and the Village of Somerset. It is one of the fastest growing school districts in the state.

Somerset School District is a progressive district, with strong community support, premised on building holistic, caring citizens of the future. Visitors to the district are often impressed that all school buildings are located on one expertly‐designed campus. The setting allows all of the schools to share resources and provides opportunities for cross‐age activities.

"Developing learners. Empowering Future. Together" is the mission of the Somerset School District and our vision is to become a premiere community, bridging learners with their passions and pathways.

These goals serve as reminders to the community that as a school district, the focus is on learning. It is a commitment to the community that the Somerset School District will strive to prepare students to live, work and learn in tomorrow's world. Standards‐based junior kindergarten‐12 curriculum is enhanced with character education, special education, alternative education, virtual education, and gifted/talented programs. Differentiated instruction is employed at all levels to help ensure academic success is achievable for every student.

The Somerset Public School District has a legacy of excellence in providing innovative and fiscally responsible education for students of Somerset. Its mission is to teach children to be productive members of the community and to prepare them to occupy leadership roles in our society. The public schools are not alone in this pursuit: parents, concerned individuals and local businesses have contributed valuable resources, time and energy to this effort. The results are evident in the quality of educational programs offered to our students.

The District is composed of 4 Elementary Schools, 1 Middle School/Jr. High School and 1 High School. Total enrollment is 2,844 students. A district profile can be found at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website.
