Somerset School Committee voted to not participate in the School Choice program for the 2025-2026 school year.

Somerset Berkley Regional School Committee has approved 15 school choice seats for incoming grade 9 students for the 2025-2026 school year. Please complete the application by June 6 if you are interested. If more applications are received than available spots, a random lottery will be held the week of June 9.

If you would like to have your email added to the notification list once the Somerset School Committee makes its decision on 2025-2026 participation, please call Robin at 508.324.3100 extension 3215 or send an email to vaccaror@sbregional.org.

If you have any questions about the School Choice program please call the Superintendent's Office at 508.324.3100 extension 5.

PROCESS: Every year school committees across the state need to decide if their district is going to participate in the School Choice program and set the parameters (grade levels, number of seats) for any available seats and let the state know the decision by June 1.  This decision is usually made at an April meeting. If there are more applicants than spots a random lottery will be held during the last week of the school year. The district can't look at academics, sports, attendance, discipline, etc; it has to be a completely random lottery. The only requirements are that the parent/guardian provides their own transportation and continues to live in a Massachusetts town/city.
