Somerset School Committee voted to not participate in the School Choice program for the 2025-2026 school year.
The deadline has passed for the seats available for incoming grade nine students for the 2025-2026 school year at Somerset Berkley Regional High School
If you have any questions about the School Choice program please call the Superintendent's Office at 508.324.3100 extension 5.
PROCESS: Every year school committees across the state need to decide if their district is going to participate in the School Choice program and set the parameters (grade levels, number of seats) for any available seats and let the state know the decision by June 1. This decision is usually made at an April meeting. If there are more applicants than spots a random lottery will be held during the last week of the school year. The district can't look at academics, sports, attendance, discipline, etc; it has to be a completely random lottery. The only requirements are that the parent/guardian provides their own transportation and continues to live in a Massachusetts town/city.
